ALUMINIUM CONVERSION COATINGS

Iridite NCP is an environmentally friendly chemical process that produces a protective conversion coating on aluminium and its alloys. This coating exhibits corrosion resistance that is equal to hexavalent chromates on many aluminium alloys. However it does not contain chromium (hexavalent or trivalent). The coating can be used as a final finish and can also serve as a base for paints, high performance topcoats, powder paints, lacquers, or as a base for rubber bonding. It can withstand high operating temperatures and provides a hard amorphous crystalline coating as its formed. Iridite NCP works especially well on pure aluminium or nearly pure alloys. Can be used as either class 1A or class 3.

Surtec 650 is another type II coating that gives excellent corrosion protection with or without paint. It also gives an excellent surface for paint or powder adhesion. The coating has low electrical resistance and is preferred for difficult high-silicon pressure die-castings after careful cleaning. It can also be used to repair anodised coatings and refresh them before painting. Can be used as either class 1A or class 3.
